*MLB Loser(-1.01u): Reds ML(-101) @ Pirates

--This was a situation where Vegas was hinting at what was going to happen with how they set this line. In what world should the Pirates be favorites against the Cincinnati Reds? Lo and behold, the Pirates cruised their way to a 7-2 victory.  JT Brubaker had good numbers for Pittsburgh entering this game, and he was able to hold down a dangerous Reds lineup to just 1 run in 6 innings of work. Jeff Hoffman is a career loser who shouldn’t be getting anybody’s betting money as far as I’m concerned. The better team clearly didn’t win, but that’s baseball for you. I could only see myself backing the Pirates with Brubaker on the mound; he’s really made himself into a legitimate top-end starter for the Pirates.

*NBA Winner(+1u): Timberwolves -7 @ Pistons

--This was a pretty easy play considering the Pistons had 7 key players unavailable tonight and are openly tanking this last week of the season. While Minnesota’s record is poor, they’ve been a completely different team when Karl Anthony Towns, D’Angelo Russell, and Anthony Edwards are all on the floor together. They’ve been pretty open about the fact that they want to finish this season strong to build up momentum for the 2021-2022 season, and it sure has shown. They mopped up the Magic by 32 on Sunday before whacking the Pistons by 19 tonight. With their core 3 healthy and potentially some new additions, the Timberwolves are going to be a team to watch out for next year. Side note: If you are putting money on the Pistons at this point of the season, I’m going to need you to call 1-800-GAMBLER for me. Get some help.

*NBA Best Bet Loser(-1.1u): Celtics +1.5 vs Heat

--I said in my pregame write-up that I would be genuinely surprised if Miami was able to beat Boston in the Garden two times in the span of 3 days. I stand corrected. While the Miami team has been very inconsistent all year and has rarely gotten my money, they seem to be gelling at the right time. Tyler Herro is finally starting to live up to the hype and has provided a major scoring option out of the 6th man role. This team has the experience and talent to make some noise in the playoffs for sure. As for Boston, I’m not sure where they go from here. Their best player, Jaylen Brown, is out for the season, and even with him they have underachieved all season long. If they run into a hungrier team in the play-in tournament, it just might set up for an early exit.

*MLB Loser(-1.1u): Marlins/Diamondbacks F5 UNDER 4(-110)

--We had this one all the way until the 5th inning. Madison Bumgarner delivered 5 shutout innings facing an abysmal Marlins lineup, and Pablo Lopez allowed just 1 run through 4 innings. Disastrously, the D-Backs got hot in the 5th inning and put up a 5 spot. This seriously has me questioning whether I’m going to bet on the MLB anymore. It’s extremely hard to win long-term in the MLB to begin with, and it’s even harder when you have losses like this. Need a strong response tomorrow.
