*NBA Winner(+1u): Knicks 1H -7(-105) vs Celtics

--This was a purely situational play because I don’t think the Knicks offense is good enough to be laying this many points very often. But, with the Celtics resting basically every meaningful player on their roster, I thought it was a good situation for the Knicks, who were able to lock up the 4 seed with this win. This game was back-and-forth right up to the last few minutes of the half; that’s when the Knicks exploded offensively and created havoc on the other end, eventually taking a 15 point lead into the locker room. Unfortunately for Knicks FG backers, that effort didn’t carry over to the second half, as the Knicks only managed to win this game by 4 points. Despite the poor finish, the Knicks will officially have home-court advantage in their opening-round series against the Hawks. I’m very interested to see what that series line is priced at, because I think the Knicks are battle-tested enough to advance to the second round. As for Boston, they’ll face off against a red-hot Washington team in the 7-8 play-in matchup this week. All in all, it felt good to get this winner to start the day and be right on which spread the Knicks would cover.

*NBA Best Bet Winner(+1u): Lakers 1H -3.5 @ Pelicans

--I placed this bet when LeBron and Anthony Davis were still questionable, and thank goodness I did. The 1H line closed at Lakers -4.5 once those two were ruled in. Needless to say, the Lakers held a 4 point lead at Halftime. This is a perfect example of why it’s not profitable to take the worst of a number in the long term. While many other Lakers 1H backers suffered a tough L, I was able to get this bet in at the perfect time. With 4 Pelicans starters out and the Lakers making a last-ditch effort at avoiding the play-in tournament, I figured we would see a strong effort out of the gates from the away team. While we only covered by a half a point, these are the kinds of breaks you need. Great ending to a great day and a great weekend. Playoffs ahead!
